Be Careful of the Company you Keep  10.12.2006

Do you know of someone that always has something wrong with them, and they are not afraid to let you know about it? They are forever complaining about something, and nothing is ever their fault? Do you know of people that are quick to point out why you can’t do something? Do you know of others who are leeches – they seem to suck out all of your positive energy and you feel worse having been around them. In life we are (sometimes) in situations where we may be around someone who has been damaged through negative programming and life’s disappointments. Sometime it is unavoidable. However, most of the time, it is not.

The more time you spend with the ‘complainers’ of this world, the harder it is for you to maintain your positivity and energy levels. ‘Complainers’ are the types of people that are always complaining about something: they hate crowds; they hate traffic; they hate their job; they hate their boss; they never have enough time; life’s not fair. Etc. They often seem to light up a room by leaving it.

Therefore we should try to avoid negative environments and negative people. The longer you spend time with these people, the more likely you will join in with the very thing you despise – the negativity spiral. Spend time with happy, positive and inspiring people and see just how good you feel, and how much happier you are as a result.

“There are two ways to live your life: One as though, nothing is a miracle; The other as though, everything is a miracle.” Albert Einstein
